The industry now agrees that many customers were oversold the prospect of always on, high speed broadband wherever and whenever they wanted.

Fortunately the UK mobile networks have upped their game and 3G web browsing is a much smoother experience. With 3G HSDPA+ speeds up to 14.4Mbps in cities such as London and Manchester, mobile broadband is no longer the poor cousin of ADSL.

However, although the mobile operators now offer 99% geographical coverage, there are a lot of areas in the UK who will have to wait for the net generation of 4G LTE mobile networks in order to get a genuine mobile broadband solution. The next few years will be very exciting in the mobile world.
